This patent combines the new public blockchain technology with the previous off-chain technology to ensure both the speed, certainty, and transparency of transactions in the NFT marketplace and user privacy. This technology can be applied to a wide range of online one-to-one communication services.
According to our survey, among inventions that mention either “Blockchain”, “NFT”, or “NFT marketplace” in the patent specification, there were approximately 500 cases with an original application date in 2023. Of these, 69 cases had a patent allowance date or registration date in 2023.
Of these 69 cases, there were a total of 31 inventions that included either “Blockchain”, “NFT”, or “NFT marketplace” in the claims (hereinafter referred to as the “population”). In this population, we are the only application to include “privacy protection technology for NFT transactions between individuals” in the claims.
In addition, in this population, the shortest time from an original application date to the patent allowance date is 72 days. Our application was the next shortest (tied for second) at 78 days.
*Please note that the above results are based on information as of the date of the survey, January 17, 2024, and does not reflect information after that date.
It is well known that patent examination by patent offices in Japan and other countries is extremely strict. However, through this application and registration, I felt that there is an underlying warmth that welcomes “being unusual”, in other words, “what is different from others” and “what no one else has thought of”.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff of the Japanese Patent Office for their special policy and work for the venture companies like us, to our patent attorneys, lawyers and other staff in their consulting firms for their great support, and to our system development partners who are enthusiastic about the concept of Tou Chakai and are fully committed to the project.
